The Tam Dalyell Cup Is Presented By Michael Connarty

Broxburn Athletic Colts Win The Tam Dalyell Cup.

Linlithgow and East Falkirk MP Michael Connarty had the pleasure of watching some of the County’s’ finest young footballers in action last Saturday at Almondvale Stadium when he presented the Tam Dalyell Cup to the 2011 winners Broxburn Athletic Colts who took the title with a 4;0 victory over Winchburgh Albion.

The attached photograph show the winning captain of Broxburn Athletic Colts team Mark Finnigan being presented their trophies by Michael. Tam Dalyell on retiring after over forty years as our MP asked that the Linlithgow Constituency Labour Party give County Cup for the Under 14’s football competition in West Lothian, together with the medals for the winning team and runners up in the final.  They also gave a special trophy to the Man of The Match.Tam had been a very keen football coach during his time as a teacher at Bo’ness Academy (then part of West Lothian county) and had taken his teams to win honours at various age group tournaments.  

Michael said “ It is so typical of Tam Dalyell to think of a way to encourage the young people of West Lothian with his chosen gift.This year it was a cracking end to end game, and a real honour for our present MP to present the Tam Dalyell County Cup to worthy winners in the end.” 

 The Runner’s Up Medals were presented to Winchburgh by their local MP Graeme Morrice, while Broxburn’s Winner’s Medals were presented by Broxburn councillor Alex Davidson.
