Michael Connarty
Labour Member of UK Parliament - Linlithgow and East Falkirk Constituency
Michael Connarty MP was recently called upon by Stenhousemuir Cricket Club secretary John R White to help secure travel and visa documents from the UK border agency so that New Zealand cricketer Tom Rutherford could be allowed entry into Britain and be able to play for Stenhousemuir as an overseas amateur. Michael took up the case and was delighted to know that his efforts ensured that the renouned Stenhousemuir Cricket Club had the services of this promising young player.
Michael said "It gives me a sense of satisfaction when I am able to help in cases such as these. It was simply unacceptable to me that a promising young cricketer was expieriencing such obstacles in trying to come to the UK and play for Stenhousemuir Cricket Club.I am glad my efforts have resulted in Tom Rutherford being granted the neccessary documentation to further his cricket with Stenhousemuir."
