Michael Speaks Up for the Human Rights of Deaf People

Sept 15th Deaf people are being denied access to video relay.

Michael Connarty (Linlithgow and East Falkirk) (Lab): May I ask the Leader of the House to use his good offices to encourage the relevant Minister in the Department responsible for social inclusion to have a debate on the human rights of the deaf community in the UK, instead of leaving it to the Minister responsible for culture and communications when deaf people are denied access to video relay and use of British sign language?

Sir George Young: I understand the concern, I will raise it with the appropriate Minister and ask that the hon. Gentleman be sent a written reply.
