The Electorate of Linlithgow and East Falkirk have returned Michael Connarty as their Member of Parliament at the General Election held on May 7th with an increased majority. The full result was as follows -
Michael Connarty (The Scottish Labour Party) 25,634 (49% of all votes cast)
Tam Smith (SNP) 13,81 (25.4 % of all votes cast)
Stephen Glenn (Liberal Democrat) 6,589 (12.8 % of all votes cast)
Andrea Stephenson (Conservative) 6,146 (12% of all votes cast)
Michael said "It was very humbling to hear the returning officer confirm that people had continued their trust in me and that I had been elected to serve as the local MP for the fifth time.I wish to thank the people of Linlithgow and East Falkirk for putting their trust in me and assure them that I shall try to serve them well."
