Local MP battles on for London & Scottish Employees

As part of his continuing battle to get proper compensation for the employees at the seven Scottish branches of the London and Scottish Bank, Michael Connarty MP for Linlithgow & East Falkirk raised the issue at Scottish Questions.

Michael had previously taken the matter up with the Department for Enterprise and the Treasury, (copy letters to follow).

Michael said, “Since I raised the matter at Scottish Questions in the House of Commons, the company have postponed their meeting with the employees’ Trade Union, Unite which was due to take place on Friday 11 July. The meeting is now set for Thursday 17 July – 2 days before the Scottish branches close. I hope the company realises that they are now being investigated by the UK Government departments. They should pay the full 90 days compensation plus full redundancy to their workforce when they close.”

“The next stage is to ensure that the families who borrowed money from the organisation are not treated unfairly by the company, (Moss) to whom they have passed their debts.”
