Heroes Return Funding For WW2 Veterans

Michael Connarty urges any WW2 Veterans or their widows to apply for Heroes Return funding to travel to places of active service.

The Big Lottery Fund have asked Michael Connarty MP to help promote the Heroes Return grants which assist WW2 Veterans or their widows in travelling back to countries as far flung as Australia and the Far East where they saw service during WW2. Already over 10 000 ex servicemen and women have benefited from Heroes Return grants - the funding is also available retrospectively for those who have travelled in 2010 and were unaware of the scheme

The grants for trips which must be taken before the end of 2010 can be applied for by contacting Heroes Return on 0845 0000 121 or by e mail on general.enquiries@biglotteryfund.org.uk other information can also be found on www.biglotteryfund.org.uk/prog Heroes Return.

Michael Said - "Hopefully in publicising Heroes Return funding some of our ex- servicemen and women who fought in WW2 to secure the world we so often take for granted will be able to travel to commemoration services or re- visit countries where they served their country so bravely. I hope the veterans I see proudly marching on Armistice Day services throughout my Linlithgow and East Falkirk constituency will hear of this grant and take up the chance to see how these countries have flourished since the dark days of WW2".
