Green Bus Fund would help Falkirk Jobs

Michael Connarty MP has today backed calls from Alexander Dennis Chief Executive Colin Robertson and Scottish Labour’s Iain Gray MSP calling on the Scottish Government to follow the lead of the UK Government by setting up a fund to support new hybrid buses such as those built in Falkirk.

Michael said “the new fund in England is a chance for environmentally friendly buses to be made here in Falkirk at Alexander Dennis – that is great news for jobs and investment. But what would be even better for the long term would be if the Scottish Government created a similar fund so that more buses could be made locally creating jobs and just as importantly they would be running on the streets of Scotland as well - helping bus passengers and the environment”

“I agree wholeheartedly with Colin Robertson that now is the time for the Scottish Government to act”
