Anti-Poverty Campaigner joins up with local MP Michael Connarty

Harry Cartmill, current Chairperson of the UK Coalition Against Poverty, has been recruited by Linlithgow and East Falkirk MP, Michael Connarty, as part of his constituency based Parliamentary staff. Harry lives in the constituency.

Michael said, “ I have been impressed by Harry’s personal commitment to people facing hardship for almost a decade. His knowledge as Chair of the organisation for the past three years will be so important to trying to deliver support for people at this time when many are facing problems caused by the economic downturn. I am delighted to welcome Harry as part of my staff to broaden my contact with local organisations.”

Harry said, “I’m excited to be part of Michael Connarty MP’s team – I’ve admired Michael’s focus on the most vulnerable through his campaign on the Living Wage and to stop Tips being used to pay the Minimum Wage – a real step forward for thousands of low paid workers."

"He fights all out for his constituents through his surgeries on Fridays and Saturdays and through his local offices. I hope that my experience will help in that important work.”
