Michael Connarty
Labour Member of UK Parliament - Linlithgow and East Falkirk Constituency
Michael Connarty MP supported the setting up of a green bus fund which is a new £30m UK Government project which bus companies and local authorities can compete for funds to help purchase new low carbon buses.
Michael also supported the call of Mr Colin Robertson, Chief Executive of Alexander Dennis, for the Scottish Government to set up a similar fund in Scotland to help support new hybrid buses like those built in Falkirk.
Michael said "Green Bus helps environmentaly friendly buses for England to be built by employees in our Constituency. For the long term it would help if a similar Scottish Fund was set up. This would be even better news for jobs and investment in bus manufacturing in the area."
