Michael Connarty is a full time MP. He has no earnings from any other job but representing his Constituents.
Michael believes that speaking up for all of his constituents is the first duty of an MP. Through his 2 full time staffed offices and his twice weekly ‘surgeries’ Michael has helped with a large and wide variety of cases for constituents. He also chairs a major Select Committee and campaigns on issues in the House of Commons and through contact with Govt Ministers.

Michael has taken up hundreds of Child Support Agency cases from concerned parents. Michael’s has won many cases with one recent case resulting in the CSA paying over £9,000 due because of the CSA’s internal mistake.
Tax credits can be a vital part of making work pay for families on lower incomes – but Michael constantly deals with problems with hundreds of individual cases. Michael campaigns non-stop to improve the system to avoid mistakes that harm his constituents.
This is a problem in much of the constituency from the industrial past for miners, steel, brickwork, car workers and others. Michael has many ongoing cases over Industrial injuries, Incapacity and long term health conditions.
Michael works closely with all parties at every level of government – and regularly takes up housing, planning and other local issues with West Lothian and Falkirk Council.
Michael recently worked with Liberal Democrat MP Willie Rennie to pass his Bill to suspend Driving Instructors charged with improper sexual behaviour towards their students.
As Secretary of the Royal Mail union in Parliament, Michael is a passionate campaigner for postal services and local post offices. Michael played a leading role in keeping a publicly owned Royal Mail and keeping local Post Offices open.
